This week, St. Croix Squadron met in Blues. The cadets had a storm chasers presentation and an impromptu speeches class before ending the night with Commander’s Call. For the storm chasers presentation, they watched a video from youtube about pilots in the air force that flew into hurricanes to find their strength and direction. During impromptu speeches, one cadet was chosen at a time to come up and give a speech on a random topic with only ten seconds to prepare! Their goal was to talk for fifty seconds to a minute, and after the speech was over, the other cadets gave feedback on what went well and what to improve on. The meeting ended with Commander’s Call as usual, going through a safety briefing and discussing various topics within Civil Air Patrol. This is also when we swore in a new cadet! We hope to see this more often to keep our squadron growing!
