On Thursday, February 27th, St. Croix Squadron conducted their annual Safety Down Day. This included classes on how to fill out a CAPF 160, situational awareness, risks during airplane landings, and what to do if you see a risk. One award tonight was for C/MSgt Briggs who passed his aerospace test with a score of 100 percent. Another award was presented to Capt. Mark Triplett who earned the Grover Loening Award. The final award that has been announced is for C/Capt. Ekstrand, who will be awarded the Air Force Association (AFA) General E.W. Rawlings Award for aerospace education and leadership for cadets. This will be presented to C/Capt. Ekstrand on April 4th by the AFA Rawlings Chapter. The cadets then split off from the senior members to attend a character development class.
